Avast is blocking internet browser connections.

I can go on Pidgin but not any browsers. I can go on when I disable the RTS but once its back on nothing. I have another AV at the moment.

So if your currently not running Avast how is anyone suppose to help you?

You post here because you need help but without you having the avast software how can we help you troubleshoot the problems?

The OP is posting here because he had a problem with Avast and needed AV protection and put another AV on in the meantime.

  1. What version and product of Avast did you have installed?
  2. What is your OS?
  3. What other security software do you currently have or did you have in the past on this machine including:
  • Antivirus (AV)
  • Firewall (FW)
  • Trial versions of AV, FW and other security programs
  • Other security software
  • If they were in the past, how did you remove them (the vendor’s uninstaller’s tool or another way)?
  1. Was the version of Avast you had installed on your machine an upgrade or a clean install?
  2. Had you checked if your firewall was blocking any access for Avast?
