I recently moved houses and my computer had been disconnected from the internet for about 8 hours during the move I hooked it up then went into town to buy a wireless usb wifi receiver for my computer because I have a desktop. Once I got connected to the internet my computer had begun to run freakishly slow and then avast start popping up 6 or 7 or sometimes 20 url blocks at a time it will also say that ieplore.exe has stopped working when I was downloading bf3 on origin and whenever I launched steam I have run scans with Malware Bytes SUPERAntiSpyware and Avast! and it still will randomly come up when im not even using the internet that it is blocking url’s the file location says it is in C:\ProgramFiles.…\iexplore.exe so i went into the internet explorer folder and deleted everything hoping that it would make it so the worm couldn’t take control of ie (I use Chrome) but even that didn’t work so I have finally come here to ask my question any replies are appreciated thanks!
Edit: noticed something new when I open my volume mixer it shows microsoft feeds synchronization,Mcrosoft DirectPlay8 Server, WIndows picture acquistion wizard, windows media player logagent (Pretty sure thats a virus but I cant find it to delete) CTF Loader, microsoft connection man…, and FI XMAPI 1.0 MAPI Repair Tool
Edit: One last thing I have watched my storage on my ssd drop from 10gb free to 200MB free and it is still dropping could someone also help me with deleting these mystery files that have installed?
I see you’re into Torrenting. I’d ask you remove it. If you wish not to, OK. But please refrain from using Bittorent. It’d also be nice not to download any Porn as well.
Temporarily disable your AntiVirus program, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may interfere with Combofix. If you are unsure how to do this please read this or this Instruction.
Instructions how to disable avast:
• Right click on the avast! system tray icon ( http://www.mcshield.net/pg/images/avast5.png
) in the lower right corner of the screen and scroll up to avast! shield controls;
• In the menu that appears, choose Disable Permanently. When you are prompted to turn off security, click Yes.
Note: Do not forget to turn back on this option after the cleaning by choosing avast! shield controls > Enable all shield options.
Run ComboFix. Then, on disclaimer window, click I Agree! button.
[i][size=7pt]- ComboFix will check if there is a newer version of ComboFix available.
Click Yes if prompted to download.
-If Recovery Console is not installed, ComboFix will offer download & installation.
Click Yes to allow ComboFix to install Recovery Console.
ComboFix will scan your computer in stages, total of 50 stages.
Do not mouse-click around while ComboFix is running.
If malware is detected, ComboFix will begin with its removal, and may need to restart Windows.
Note:If you see a message like “Illegal operation attempted on a registry key that has been marked for deletion” just restart your computer.
