Avast is charging me for sometihing i don have?

Why is avast charging me

Are you going to tell us what you were charged for, or should we consult our crystal ball?

First, I’m an Avast user and not an Avast Team member.

Are you sure it is Avast ?
First don’t click any links in the email or call any telephone number in it.

There is a lot of scams going about for the more popular Antivirus companies to extort money and or garner further information.

I got a couple of scam email one supposedly for Norton another supposedly for vehicle tax.
Checking the sender and reply email addresses is generally enough to spot a scam.

But as Rundvleeskroket mentions, information is life blood and there is nothing here to work with.

Hi David, thank you for answering my message. It's a direct debit from my bank account. The bank rejected it because I had made a large payment, but Avast has tried to collect it twice.

OK, the big question asked by Rundvleeskroket is what Avast program have you got or did you have ?

If you had a paid version of avast did you set an auto payment mandate ?
If you did that would have be cancelled otherwise on the renewal date this would be actioned.

From March 2024 to March 2025 I had the cleanup, but I asked to stop using it, and on the Avast website I appear without any subscription.

The option to cancel the service appears everywhere, but I don’t have a service to cancel.

Not so much a service but an auto payment mandate.
