I have a user of our software complaining about our software disappearing after running it once if avast is enabled.
They install, run once and it is fine. They try to run a second time and the whole installation folder (C:\TI) is gone. If they disable avast then they have no issues with installing an running the software multiple times. I am not familiar with avast. Is there a log somewhere that would say why you have deleted our software? Our software is called Code Composer Studio and is a development tool for embedded processors.
It’s erm… rather strange, since avast! can remove files (if it finds them infected), but it doesn’t remove any directories…
What operating system is that? Do any messages (from avast!) appear? What exactly does it mean, “disable avast” - e.g. stopping the FileSystem Shield?
I am also a user of Code Composer Studio, and I’ve have been having a heck of a time installing it because Avast keeps on sandboxing it. Even if I choose to “open normally”, it’s too late, it has already messed up all the processes and it doesn’t install correctly. I have to turn the Antivirus off permanently, install, then turn it on again.
But that’s not good enough either. Because when Code Composer compiles a program, Avast intervenes again and prevents it from compiling the program! I wasn’t even able to compile the basic “Blink the Led” example. I can’t turn Avast off every single time I want to compile a program in Code Composer. Please whitelist Code Composer Studio.
