Avast is not scanning properly

What I mean by “not scanning properly” is that when I go to the predefined scans and pick one it will start the scan however within a minute or less the amount of data it has scanned is in the Gigabytes the speed is 30-40MB per second the files and folders is messed up. The amount of files tested will always increase however the Folder section will not it is always at 1.

However, when I go to my c drive and right click and hit scan it runs slower takes several minutes to reach Data tested within the Gigabytes, the speed it is being tested is at around 6MB per second.

So overall what is going on? I’m not really sure, I Will admit I have Norton installed, along with Malware bytes and Spybot Search and Destroy. However I do not believe it is the reason to why the predefined scans are not working properly.

I must note that the issues above were the reason I uninsulated Avast! months ago. So this is a continuing occurrence with Avast.

Drop Norton…!

Im not very sure what im suppose to understand from that link you gave me.

More important than the link, is that you should only have one resident AV…!!

That is the weird thing though. Before this issue occurred, back during Avast 5,i think, I had this plus Comodo on my computer and it ran perfectly after an update it started doing this.

A bit vague.

What you are seeing is most likely the initial antirootkit scan (where the progress is slightly strange - but it has always been so).
So there’s nothing to worry about.

How can I tell the difference between the antirootkit scan and the virus scan?
