Avast is saying it found a rootkit in one of my scanners

Hi guys!! It’s been a long time. How are you all doing?
I got this one that just litterally popped up a few minuets ago.
it says it’s from Hitman Pro. so. not too sure what to do there. I haven’t done anything yet. the pop up is still sitting there, waiting for me.

Personally I wouldn’t use hitman rpo, but it has obviously installed a hidden service that avasts anti-rootkit scan considers suspicious.

If you installed hitman pro and know that it would install a hidden driver then you could opt to Ignore and not delete, accepting the risk involved in doing that if it were a fake and I can’t tell that.

would your best option be to uninstall hitman pro? i did just install a new application “Ad-Aware” thought i would git it a try.

I would drop both.

sounds good. i wouldn’t mind opening up more space for processes.

Yes, as one of our malware removal specialists has seen the damage that hitman pro can do on systems he is cleaning when it has been used.

AdAware, I feel has long since had its day, though they are trying to revamp it, but I would say MalwareBytes AntiMalware (mbam) compliments avast as a secondary scanner.

i have hitmanpro35.sys but avast has not detected mine as a rootkit 8)

Yeah I heard Hitman can delete rootkits that can make windows not boot.
Hey Adotd  waves o-rly? Thanks DavidR and Asyn.
So I removed both.
I did let Avast do a bootscan, the same warning from Avast came up when I uninstalled it.
The strange thing is the that when i clicked the file to uninstall it from the start menu Hitman did not pull up a uninstall wizard. it was just gone.
well I have another issue going on or noticed about my puter but i’ll post it if there’s a place here.

You’re welcome.
