Avast is scanning out network trying to access shared folders with gen.user-pass

I have just installed bright new pc with Avast Free Antivirus. Everything looks ok except network behaviour. This new pc is sniffing our network, trying to access our shared folders with dictionary passwords like: admin-admin, user-123456 and so on.
Is this supposed to be normal behaviour?

Yes this is a home network scan running on new network, testing your router and other devices on network on vulnerabilities.

Is there any way to recognize “this is just Avast”? We have a honeypot installed. Its returning false alarms during Avast scan.

Hi,

you can recognize the avast home network scanning by checking the HTTP headers with specific “User-Agent: avast! Antivirus.”
