When i’ve played the following game: Trackmania Nations Forever on internet with NOD32 everything is going fine.
Then i have decided to switch to Avast!.
When i play the game with Avast noticeable is that something is wrong.
The tracks are weird, the colors are not the same and the game is slower.
I have beside this CPF.
Notice that, only AV is switched and nothing else is changed and there is a big difference.
The setting on Avast are standard, and they are not set to max. values.
I wonder if is this similar in other online games too, and i just suggest this issue to be investigated if possible.
Same thing was with comodo and trackmania nations and now i see that, they resolved the problem.
But unfortunately the only game i play from time to time is giving me some strange results.
I really like Avast lately and i’m thinking on switching to it, but this is making me doubts.
Alwil is performing good lately and they are doing good job in the previous six months(from i can see from the tests) , and i sure hope that they will continue.
Sometimes, Comodo and avast don’t have good interactions.
Can you try staying only with Windows firewall and avast?
Does avast show any error message? Anything in the logs?
By the way Avast and comodo have not any problem.
I don’t think that this two are problems i think something else is issue and should be investigated.
Just my $0.02.
About windows firewall i wouldn’t give any comments. Everything is said.
I would rather stay without Av that without firewall. At least not resident av. Just on demand.
At the moment i don’t have avast and i can’t tell you about logs, but no, there aren’t any error messages.
Just once avast closed suddenly, but that wasn’t related with the online gaming, i think that was related with the skins that i have applied and the gui. I think that some error message was show about termination and no i don’t remember right now what skins was exactly.
Anyway my need and wish is if it’s possible Alwil team to look up on the online gaming problem especially with Tm. Nation Forever.
Well… seems that you’ll have to choose another antivirus then…
Everyone says everything about everything… Windows firewall does its job (just don’t offer configurability and outbound easy setup). Inbound (hacking) protection is there, it works, regardless people want to blame Microsoft…
