Avast is the only antivirus software that detects malware...

I have various antivirus programs (5) installed onto my PC including Avast. Avast is the only one that detects this type of malware. The malware that is stated seems to be made up as I can’t find anything online about it. To further prove my point, I ran it on VirusTotal and yet again, Avast was the only one that found the malware. I’d think that other competitors should be able to find viruses in a .exe file effortlessly. Is this a fault on Avast or is the Anti-Virus market that big of an anomaly? McAfee, Norton etc. can’t detect any malware. This is an important work file. Should I run it? I have years of work on this PC’s hard drive. Should I run it on my VM? I’m sorry if this a question an amateur would ask but I can’t risk the malware destroying my PC right now.

Seriously (5) antivirus programs ???
I find it astonishing that some folks still don’t know that actively running more than ONE antivirus can cause major issues/conflicts to your Operating System.
