Avast is turning into an anti-piracy antivirus

Avast is blocking websites with copyrighted content as “URL:Blacklist” or “URL:Scam”, when actually, those websites doesn’t have any virus. That’s against the freedom of expression. Are websites to watch TV shows and movies free and without pay any streaming, not virus.

Freedom of expression doesn’t extend to copying copyrighted products - that said Avast isn’t concerned with that and it isn’t why Avast alerts - it is because Avast has it categorised as “URL:Blacklist” or “URL:Scam”. Which isn’t based on copying copyrighted products.

Since you don’t provide any details, e.g. screenshots of the Avast alert window with the Details option selected, it is somewhat difficult for anyone to investigate.

To be clear I don’t work for Avast, just an Avast user.

" just an Avast user"
You passed the point of an un-biased user long time ago.

You are an Avast Evangelist…

That is a forum grade just as Jr. Member and Newbie is.
It is based on post count alone, the fact that I have been an avast free user and helper on the forums for a very long time.

I say it as I see it, simple.

“I have been an avast free user and helper on the forums for a very long time.”

Hence biased!

Bullshit, you certainly don’t know me.

I call it as I see it even when I disagree with or when that contradicts Avast decisions.

I see you offering zero help of any kind to the OP.

Point of consideration: These symptoms can arise from the use of a VPN. Attempting to view source streaming content in another country can, and does result in blocks, sometimes with alerts associated with them.

OP may have omitted this fact, just so you know.

Websites with the .xyz domain are notorious for nefarious content, and Avast does block these domains as a matter of course.

Again, the OP failed to give examples.
