So, I was trying to run the game Audiosurf from the Steam platform, when I received a warning that a part of it was infected. I’ve run scans on it with both Malwarebytes and SuperAntiSpyware, and both came up clean. Fed up, I uninstalled Audiosurf and tried to reinstall it via Steam, and not only had the one part of the installer blocked, but everything in the game blocked. I think there’s a problem with the latest definitions, as it classified every part of Audiosurf as MSIL:Crpy-NB [Trj]. I even submitted the file that caused all this to VirusTotal, and all but 2 of the scanners came up clear.
if you have the file in avast chest, right click it and upload to avadt lab as possible FP
or you can do it here. http://www.avast.com/contact-form.php
I did with the initial file that set it off. Is there a way to mass-upload files to the virus lab? Because avast actually quarantined the entire set of files from the second Audiosurf install.
if you zip it first…
you can also send by mail in a password protected zip file to virus@avast.com
mail subject: false positive
zip password: infected
to avoid blocking when sending .exe files i recomend using a zip program that also encrypt the content like 7zip or win.rar
Should I include a description of what’s going on?
you may do that
you can also give link to this topic in case they reply here
And I just sent them an email.
EDIT: And I just realized I forgot to include the password for the file when I sent the email.
