I have Avast Premium.
I started to see an high usage of CPU 70% in my i9 14900K 
. Why is it happening???
If Avast does not resolve that, I will cancel my suscription.

To ask an obvious question: is Avast not just running a scan? Smart Scan perhaps?
It the usage still this high after a few minutes?
I was not sure if Avast was running a background process like scan or something like that, I did not see any alert/notification that a process was running. After repairing the installation and restarting my PC the problem persisted. (I realized that the Google Chrome was very slow.)
Finallly, I had to uninstall Avast due to general low performance in my system. I sent my logs/info in the uninstall steps, I hope Avast team reviews the data.
Aqui tá a mesma coisa. Quando inicio meu jogo ele fica em 70% degradando todo o sistema e o jogo. Vou ser obrigado a desinstalar e a utilizar outro antivirus se não corrigir o problema.
I have similar issue too, I already tried to turn off al the shields and scam guard, but it doesn’t help, it’s still running at above 50%, it makes everything laggy. Hope Avast fix it ASAP, because it’s blocking my work.

Same situation for me. It’s been like this for the last few days and I’m afraid I have to delete the app as my PC has been forced to use much of the resource and the PC fan’s been going crazy all the time.

In my case, I turned off the Deepfake Guard (Scam Guardian → Deepfake Guard) and then restarted the laptop. Looks like the CPU usage dropped to around 10%, and kinda fixed the issue. I think it’s because avast running its AI using our CPU or something.

DeepFake guard uses its own AI model and if there is no available AI-capable GPU and user still wants Avast to run it (maybe unintentionally), Avast runs it on CPU. That may be the case as Muhamad5 said.
