Avast keeps blocking harmful websites on internet explorer

Problem JUST started tonight and I have no clue what the deal is. It has now blocked over 47 harmful websites that I’m not even visiting at the moment and it’s still counting. http://r-ubmet5.com http://rummerstain2.com/task3034 http://rumlown-set8.net/task/3034 these are just three of the several websites it’s blocking. What in the blazes do I do?

It seems you have a infection…

Attach (not copy and paste) Malwarebytes and OTL logs

Hi Thataintfalco,

Strongly suggest following Pondus’s advice and get the programs and attach the resulting logs in your next reply.

Please modify your original post where http is modified to hxxp: to protect users here from possible accidental infection/exposure to malware in your links above. Do(ing) so will make your original links links not live (clickable) anymore.

[EDIT:] Fixed typo.

Alrighty…not sure if I’m doing this right AT ALL, but here it goes…my attempt to attach the logs.

You have done it correct… Also attach Malwarebytes log

A malware expert will help you soon…

OK I would like to look deeper on this one after the OTL fix

Warning This fix is only relevant for this system and no other, using on another computer may cause problems

Be advised that when the fix commences it will shut down all running processes and you may lose the desktop and icons, they will return on reboot

[*]Then click the Run Fix button at the top
[*]Let the program run unhindered, reboot the PC when it is done
[*]Open OTL again and click the Quick Scan button. Post the log it produces in your next reply.

THEN

Download and Install Combofix

Download ComboFix from one of the following locations:
Link 1
Link 2

VERY IMPORTANT !!! Save ComboFix.exe to your Desktop

  • IMPORTANT - Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools. If you have difficulty properly disabling your protective programs, refer to this link here

[*]Double click on ComboFix.exe & follow the prompts.
[*]Accept the disclaimer and allow to update if it asks

[*]When finished, it shall produce a log for you.
[*]Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply.

Notes:

  1. Do not mouse-click Combofix’s window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.
  2. Do not “re-run” Combofix. If you have a problem, reply back for further instructions.
  3. If after the reboot you get errors about programmes being marked for deletion then reboot, that will cure it.

Please make sure you include the combo fix log in your next reply as well as describe how your computer is running now

Alright. I haven’t downloaded or run the combofix yet, but here’s the log for the quickscan. Plan to do the combofix download right after this.

I’m having the same problem (same websites are attempting to open up and such), should I put my logs in here as well or should I make a whole new post? Sorry if this is a dumb question I’ve never used the forums before.

Not every system is the same so it takes a personalized detecting/removal.
