Avast Keeps Turning Itself OFF when trying to scan

Hi!

Running WinXP Pro (my old desktop), have had Avast for some time. Have never come up against this before.

Went to run a scan, a Full Scan and it took about 1.5 minutes. I knew that couldn’t be right so I tried again using Quick Scan which sat on the same thing for about a half hour SVC: {6C3BD4DE-A529-45F9-9839-42525237C98AE} I have zero idea what or where this is.

I don’t have a report because it’s not really doing anything

The other thing is that as soon as I go and hit scan, if I click the Home icon, it’s showing as Unsecured! trying to scan turns Avast off.

Reputation Services Enabled, Connection Established, Streaming Updates Enabled. It appears that I AM getting updates (getting the popups), but I don’t know what to do with this can’t scan, or can try to scan but it turns the services - all of them - off.

Help?

Version 8.0.1483/updated engine and virus definitions 130429-1

just finished a malwarebytes full scan - 0 malicious items detected

Tried another Avast Full Scan … 2 minutes, 8.7GB scanned and it finished itself

Update MBAM again and run full system scan via safe mode. If nothing is found do this. Uninstall avast via add/remove, use avast uninstall utility http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility

Install a fresh new copy of avast. Hope this helps?
