Avast Keeps Turning Off Screensaver

Third time now, Avast updated and I found my screensaver turned off.

What’s up with that behavior?

I’ve got the same issue!
I’m on windows 10.

Did it again.

Repair Avast:

  1. Avast GUI → Settings → Troubleshooting
  2. Click on ‘REPAIR APP’.
  3. Follow instructions.
  4. Reboot.

And again, repair apparently did not fix the issue.

  • Which version/build of Avast…?
  • OS…? (32/64 Bit…? - which SP/Build…?)
  • Other security related software installed…?
  • Which AV(s) did you use before Avast…?

I’ve also been getting this issue for several months now.

I am on what is still a brand new computer (built in August), with a (then) brand new install of Windows 10 64bit and fresh Avast (free) install. I also had this issue on my previous PC (Win 7 64bit).

Avast has now disabled my screensaver on this PC at least three times. It seems to occur each time there is a new version of Avast requiring a restart; possibly other times as well, but I’m not sure.

It just happened again within the last few hours, and no other programs have updated, so it can only be Avast.

You can submit a bug report in “About Avast”. (Add a link to this thread)

Hi,
just to let you know that it seems the problem’s been solved.
The February 2022 version of Avast didn’t disable my screensaver.
First time in 2 years
