I saw this screen on your website: http://www.avast.com/registration-free-antivirus.php
I was trying to understand what this key is used for… Is it for the free antivirus or the pro version?
As much as I undertand, the free version is free for “lifetime” not only for 1 year and doesn’t need registration…
And what’s the big different between the free and the pro versions anyway? I saw this:
*Secures online banking and purchases
*Surfing well-known sites (e.g. Facebook, Twitter)
*Browsing risky sites
*Runs risky programs safely
this is for the free version, you will get an 1 year license and after that year you have to redo it. And yes its free for lifetime.
This is just for statistical things. Someone installs it just to test it out, but when he registers it it means that he will use it for a longer time.
The Avast Internet Security has an Firewall, a sandbox to run unsafe programs in it, there is an feature to secure your internet connection called secure VPN
that is also available in the free version, and it has an Antispam module to filter Spam Mails. And it has the Safe-Zone which is an completely virtualised Enviroment.
I was asking about the compare between the Free Antivirus and the Pro Antivirus, not the Internet Security thing…
As I said, the difference seems to be:
*Secures online banking and purchases
*Surfing well-known sites (e.g. Facebook, Twitter)
*Browsing risky sites
*Runs risky programs safely
But what exactly does it mean? Where can I find more info (even technical info) on how exactly it’s being done…
