Avast Killed my Computer :@

Plz help me Guys !!!

I had Norton 360 which Expired yesterday… I Uninstalled it… and it asked me to Restart my computer… I waited… didn’t restart yet…I MINIMIZED that window… i started looking for a free anti virus and because i had Avast in my Android Mobile… I downloaded that… and Installed it… Avast installed fine… and all was well… it was LATE Nite… instead of Restarting my Laptop when Norton asked me too, i installed Avast at the same time… and … I SHUT IT DOWN !!

Today Morning… when I turned it on… That’s it… it Wont start… I mean… the Laptop wont even boot into DOS or anything, or like doesn’t even take me to the Windows Logo…the screen doesn’t turn on at all…I can only hear the sound of the CD ROM again and again… (the sound that you can hear once when the laptop starts) …

PLZ HELP ME… my laptop is the HP DRAGON HDX 9450…am I the only one in this.

Can you boot in Safe Mode? (http://goo.gl/aEOov).
Uninstall avast! there and if you can, unistall Norton:

  1. (If possible) Remove Symantec products through Add/Remove programs from Control Panel. Boot.
  2. Use [url=http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail/Norton-Removal-Tool/1169144666/1]Norton Removal Tool. Boot.
  3. Install avast! (or repair the installation) and boot.

Then I suggest an installation from scratch:

  1. Download the latest version of avast! Uninstall Utility and save it.
  2. Download the latest avast! version and save it.
  3. (Optional) If you want, save your avast! settings for later restoration (Settings > Maintenance > Back up).
  4. Uninstall avast! from Control Panel (if possible) and reboot.
  5. Run the avast! Uninstall Utility saved on 1 in and follow the instructions. Reboot in Normal mode after that.
  6. Install avast! using the setup saved on 2. Register your free copy or add the license key for the paid versions. Boot.
  7. Check and post the results.

Please, be patient, boot when it’s said to boot…

as I told you… the computer monitor is not turning on… I mean the lights of my laptop turn on… but its kind off not starting up… i cant c anything… not even the HP logo and 2 or 3 options that come below it… the only sound i keep hearing is the CD Rom… kinda chugging again and again :frowning:

Please try this test. Unplug your laptop, remove the battery and hold the power switch down for 20-30 seconds.
