Hi everyone,
Just curious, what happens for instance, if you buy avast (for example: one year) before you get to use the 60 days trial period. Does it mean that the license expires after 12 or 14 months?
Cheers!
You get the trial period up to the point where you register/purchase the Pro version gratis I believe. Your pro license is for 12 months from the time of purchase/registration/entering the Pro Key in your installed trial version I believe.
I think your 14 month confusion stems from the Home version, which is valid for 14 months of free VPS updates and you need to register again for the free updates. This also is on top of the trial use, so it’s the same the trial period is not counted either.
Long story short; after some troubleshooting with my Pro trial I got a Pro license key from avast technical support. Enter and it shows that my license expires in 14 months?
What does it say in the about avast!
avast! version? The Updates expiration date (in the Registration Key section)?
This sounds like they have done a special for you since you didn’t get to complete the 60 day Pro trial. So when you bought the license they would appear to have given you a bonus for your trouble. The Pro license is usually for 12 months.
As far as I know, all the licenses are sold as 12/24/36 months, but they are actually valid for 2 months longer… consider it a bonus for you.
;D ;D ;D
Thanks DavidR, Igor, always swift for reply, 8)
Also would like to say hello and appreciate the support and forthcoming to
Petr Chocholous down at ALWIL Software Technical Support. Doing a good job!!
Igor is right, it’s always 2 months more. The reason is that if you buy during the first day of your 2-month trial period, we don’t want to steal the extra 2 months (that you didn’t use) from you.
And if you used it, yeah, it’s a bonus.
Well, first I though of that, but it was like: “It’s to good to be true, rubbing my eyes and stuff” ???
But now, ;D
O.K. than, what else to say than I will see you next 14 months
Hope I will be reporting only good stuff…8)
