Hello,
I’ve installed avast! Linux home edition(the DEB package) on my Ubuntu 10.10 computer. After registering, the program seemed to work. But next time I started it it gave me the following message[i]“An error occured in avast! engine: Invalid argument”[/i
Can you please tell me what was the cause of that and how can I get avast! working again? If it’s not possible to repair it,how can I remove it?

Hi

My linux knowledge is limited, but take a look at this thread, it is about the invalid argument error.

Hallo,
yes, just raise the max ashm block to more sane value than the (nowadays nonsensual) default 32MB. sysctl command or writing to /proc/sys does the job. placing it in /etc script does the work for you upon each restart.
