Avast locking up and can't use or close

Frequently my Avast Passwords lock up. I cannot open the Avast Passwords icon in tool bar, can’t access the passwords open on my bottom tool bar, cannot close the program. The only way I can resolve this is to shut down my computer. When I do this I have difficulty rebooting.
Why does this happen? Why can’t I close the program?

I am sorry you have this trouble with Avast. It is really weird. Could you send me private message with some more details (like what system are you using, which version of Avast, what browser etc.)
