Avast Locks up Pc after install and reboot

Just as it states… I have installed AVAST Home and after I reboot it will lock up my system. Not all my programs will load. I have NOT had any other AV installed. I have a “fresh” install of Windows will all my applications installed, Office, Winrar etc… (NO other AV)
Then installed it and BAM locked up…

The version of Avast that I am trying to install is the newest one located on the download section of the download page…

I have also gone into SafeMode with Networking and told Avast to do it’s upgrade and it will do it and update fine…

My internet connection is Cable and it’s fast… :stuck_out_tongue:

Still after rebooting it locks up.

I have WinXP Pro SP3
AMD Sempron 2Ghz processor…
1 Gig Ram DDR
160 Gig HDD (IDE)
750 Gig HDD (SATA)

Hope I got all options covered…

Hope someone can help me… I don’t want to revert to AVG :-X

Please, post the last 300-350 lines of avast log: C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\DATA\log\Setup.log
Which firewall do you use?

I don’t use a firewall… Wait… I did have the windows firewall on last night… Damn… I didn’t even think to check that… But I wasn’t able to even get it to finish booting up. I guess I could go into safemode to look at the setup log… It will be tonight b4 I can do that for you…

Look, Windows Firewall is completely compatible with avast.

I tried to reinstall it like 4 times… No go…

Do you want 200-250 or 300-350? It will be this evening for me b4 I can get it to you… I am at work now…
