Avast log - aswar scan function failed!

I keep getting the following error log entry. ??? I have Windows XP Home with Comodo CPF firewall installed.

07/04/2008 19:38:32 SYSTEM 1096 Internal error has occurred in module aswar scan function failed!, function C0000005.

Any advice as what is causing this would be most wellcome.

Thanks Vlk, Have now just noticed I only have 6 of the possible 7 providers! Internet Mail, Standard Shield and Web Shield plus Instant Messaging, P2P and Outlook/Exchange which I don’t use anyway but there was a forth I had running that no longer appears in the Settings GUI.

Update on previous post.

After 3 reboots my Internet Shield has now returned! I am considering removing Avast and doing a clean install as I now keep getting red popups stating that Avast has been unable to update but when I do a manual check both the IAVS and program are up to date.

Got this system pop up after boot up today!

Will a repair of avast installation help?
Control Panel → Add/Remove Programs → avast! Antivirus → Change/Remove

Hi Vlk, I have done three repairs since these problems began and at the moment all seems to be ok with automatic updates working and apart from 1 of the 4 providers a bit slow to work at start up the only problem at the moment is the following pop up I keep getting but I think this is IE related and nothing to do with Avast.
