AVAST mail handler

Hello folks, overall i prefer AVAST over AVG but for one reason i continue to use AVG. To elaborate, i like using the ‘send to mail recipient’ command to send mail without having to load outlook express. Problem is that when doing this on large attachments, i have to wait for it to completely upload before i can use the ‘send to mail recipient’ command again. Where as AVG receives the email right away to its handler, there is no wait time. Is there a fix for this? That is without having to load outlook express client.

Thanks.

Can you please give us some more information about how you invoke this “send to mail recipient” command.

It may help us to help you.

Hello thanks for your reply

In Windows Explorer or My Computer, right-click a file, and then point to Send To. On the shortcut menu that appears, click the destination where you want to send your file. The file is sent to or activated by the destination that you select. For which i select mail recipient. This opens up the outlook express email window with the file attached to it. The full client does not load at this time. After i click send, the outlook express detail bar shows up. At this time, the bar shows the detail for the upload while i guess at the same time it is being scanned by AVAST email scanner. I have to wait for this to end before i am able to send another file. With AVG, at the point of clicking send, the detail bar is quick to say that its sent…avg scans it in the backgroup and sends it itself.

Another way too look at this is…if you open outlook express mail client, and create an email with a large attachment, then send it. With AVAST, the email stays in your outbox until it gets uploaded and scanned by AVAST, when its done, it goes to the sent box. With AVG, the email goes from the outbox to sent box in a matter of no time. I can close outlook express where as i know AVG is sending the email by itself in the background.
