Ever since I installed Avast there is a lot of lagging when I start a browser, or serach for something or goes to a new page. Why is that and can it be fixed, or must i go back to just using Windows Defender to fix it?
For instance when i use Google chrome, it lags a lot, when I use it. It didn´t do that when I used Windows defender recently.
I like avast, but I don´t think I will keep on using it, if this continues.
Are you using the Avast Online Security add-on in Chrome (or other browsers)? if yes, try disabling that to see if any improvement.
No, I am not using any add ons at all. I suspect it is one of the active shield causing this. Maybe webshield. But I don´t know if I should turn it off.
If you turn webshield off, then you will not have any protection from bad websites or malware from web pages.
Have you tried doing a repair of Avast to see if any improvement after that.
Open Avast UI, then:
Menu>Settings>Troubleshooting scroll fown to [Repair App]
