Avast makes WIFI slow to start

Lately my internet has been coming on slower than normal. I’ve been running into this problem for over a month now.

Thought I had a virus at first, but I ruled that out via scanning with Avast and scanning with Malwarebytes and SuperAntiSpyware, along with Spybot (separate scans). They all came up clean.

So I kept an eye on my command prompt, and noticed that almost every time I ran into a problem with slow loading wifi, Avast was trying to update somehow.

I’ve narrowed it down to Avast! sending data out around the same time as my wifi comes on via my laptop. Today added another nice wrinkle >_<. It usually reads Identifying and then connects, but for a second it said that it was NOT connected and that connections were available.

I came across a similar thread on the forums here that was dealing with pretty much the same issue: https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=147721.0

So it makes me wonder if said issue has sadly made a come back.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Said problem is still occurring off and on. Generally during updates.

Two times it caused my start button to become the old style Windows one (first time I had to reset the cache to get it to go back to normal, second time it did it by itself) and during the second time it switched Google Chrome to the old style browser window.

And one time Windows froze and I had to restart my laptop.

I’m SERIOUSLY concerned about this issue.

Here are some screen caps via Attachments of what I’ve seen during some of the start ups via Command Prompt.
