Just noticed that MBAM Mobile is available for Android. I currently use Avast for protecting my HTC One, and am wondering whether it is advisable to use MBAM mobile alongside it. On my PC I use both Avast and MBAM Pro Versions, but i am thinking for Android this may be overkill and will seriously add to my battery drain.
Does anyone else combine these two apps on their Android Smartphone? If so, how is it working for you? I like to have as little background apps running as possible. If anyone here owns a HTC One you will understand why.

I am using them both, I have not had any problems so far. I would say try it and see if you like it.
Yeah i have installed it and seeing how it is going. So far, so good, but I would say that having it running all the time alongside Avast is unnecessary and a resource drain so, i have not set scheduled scans, and set updates to every 6 hrs. Updating every hour is pointless as Android doesn’t have anywhere near the threats Windows does.
I am also thinking I will just use it as an on-demand scanner so, when not needed I will Force Stop MBAM Mobile so it does not run at all, and start it again when i wish to scan my storage.
My first impression is that although it is a good app, it is not needed on Android if you are using a good AV such as Avast.
I would say it is needed only to have layered security. I would not say it drains resources (that much) tho I have mine updating every hour as I have unlimited data. Weirdly it has not updated from the time it was downloaded. Do you have the icon of mbam on your notification bar?
No, i don’t have the icon in my notification bar as I selected, ‘Hide Icon’. I understand this does not work for everyone though.
Yeah I have it on my notification bar but it’s not the prettiest icon I have ever seen.
