Avast messing with my computer after upgrading to Pro.

For the last couple of days i’v been having some issues with Avast. First after installing/upgrading my wife’s laptop to Avast Pro for ( 3 PC’s ) I decided to use the code on my PC. From that day its been nothing but hell for me. I have had so many issues I don’t even to where to start at. Avast not connecting to to internet while i’m on the web, shields randomly turning themselves off without notice and others that I can think of right now.

Originally I uninstalled Avast through windows just for it to show back up after reboot. After looking around I found “Avast Clear” and gave that a try ( Which worked… ) but shortly after reinstalling Avast and reapplying my upgrade code all hell breaks out again ( Connection issues, Shields turning off, ect ).

Things i’v tried:
Safe Mode Uninstall/Regular Uninstall
Avast Clear ( x5 ) at one point Avast Clear wouldn’t work on my computer at all Safe Mode or not
System Restore ( x2) everything was fine after the first restore but once I reinstalled Avast I began to get the same issues
Ran MSCONFIG in Command and ipconfig /release, /renew, /flusDNS to help with the connection issues but nothing

I am running Windows 7 64-bit SP1
Avast is the only “Protection” iv had on my computer after uninstalling Microsoft Security Essentials ( Per Avast suggestion )
Iv been useing the latest version of Avast from the Avast website ( Installed Free then entered code to upgrade to Pro )

I am not the smartest with these kind of things and would really love to get some help. I am a long time user who had NEVER had any of these issues until Upgrading to Pro

If I am missing any other information please let me know. Thank you

Hi doggutts, welcome to the forum

Would you mind if we take a look at your system first ?
See this tutorial https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.0

Scroll down to “Farbar Recovery Scan Tool” and follow the directions for that tool only.
Attach both FRST.tx and Additions.txt logs in your next reply.

I have asked our best expert essexboy to assist you.

Thank you for the quick reply but please disregard this as I was informed by some of my pers to go ahead and reformat my machine. At this time everything is working as it should be… YAY!!!

I believe I deleted something through Malwarebytes Anti-Malware which made everything go haywire.

Once again thank you

Reformatting a system is a very drastic and time consuming solution when something goes wrong.
It is better to make regular ( weekly ) image back-ups of your system, you can fall back on.
Personally I keep image back-ups from the last six weeks.
