I wish now that I would have taken a screenshot of the red error I got when checking for win updates. I didn’t even think about it. :-[ My main concern was getting it fixed.
Windows 10 latest Cumulative update to 10586.122, possibly has Avast or some other conflict preventing PC into going auto sleep mode. I’ve Removed Avast completely, tested with Defender, worked fine with Defender
Then disabled Defender, Restarted, make sure Defender still disabled, did clean install of Avast, attempted to see if would sleep, and never went to sleep autoly for some reason.
Started own topic on same matter, no replies though. Defender sure scans slow even on a 8 core based system
Should I try another clean install of Avast? should I wait til next versions out of beta?
It took 2 hours for Windows Update to find 13 updates for Windows 7.
I guess since Windows 10, Windows 7 is not priority for Microsoft.
BTW, no problems with Avast.

Just got another 9 updates via ‘XP Update Extender’ without any issue!

HDW
Why ? It is not Avast fault. It is a known issue with Windows Update in Windows 7.
Just Google it.

Yeah it took both of my Win 7 systems a long time to find the updates. The other 2 that are running 10 got them easily and I’m not using Avast.
Today, it took ‘only’ 1 hour and 50 minutes for Windows Updates to find 10 updates for Windows 7.
Everything is fine with Avast.
It also took me around the similar length of time as abruptum. No problem(s) caused by avast or by windows.
Still pending reboot for the one broken update…
Lets hope it will not break the system.

What one is broken? I didn’t have any problems.
I am waiting HDW38 to report about XP updates, so I can tell my friend if it is OK to install updates.
Seems no fix yet from MS as Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1511 for x64-based Systems (KB3147458) here is hanging at 90%
My opinion of W10 is it seems this OS is very unpredictable and certainly not smooth by any stretch of the imagination.
IMO, XP is still the smoothest OS ever put out by MS!!
EDIT: After over an hour the updates finally progressed past 90% and eventually installed.
Very Glitchy!!
Installed fine on my windows 10 computer.
all installed normally for me
11 updates for me,seems to have hung on downloading though.

No such problem here with Win 10 Home 64 bit. All installed fine and the one that took the longest, as usual, was the removal tool. Windows 10 has been nothing but smooth for me since day one.
Installed 13 updates on Windows 7. No problems with Avast.
It looks like Microsoft has fixed problems with Windows updates for Windows 7.
It took 15 minutes to download and install updates.
