Avast missing on known viruses [maybe not after all :)]

Yesterday I was browsing on a very respectable forum. Someone was complaining about links to a porn site. Curious as I am, I clicked on the link. All hell broke loose as Avast started warning me that my computer had been infected with two viruses. I should have noted the names of the viruses. In any case, I immediately ran Avast, but Avast did not find the viruses. To be on the safe side, I did a disaster recovery from a previous backup.
The link still exists on the forum in question. I certainly don’t want to repeat yesterday’s boo boo in order to find the name of the viruses. Is there any way I can forward the link to Avast so that Avast can update their database on these viruses?

Since Avast warned you, they are already known.
It was very likely the Webshield that stopped them at the door, that is why a scan didn’t detect them.

Thanks Eddy, and thanks Webshield!

FYI their names and exact URLs should’ve be logged to the file \data\report\Resident Protection.txt.

Its strange that sometimes when i terminate web shield пprovider and start it again eicar test is detected by standart shield(In the warning message there is C/documents and settings… not http://www.eicar.comThe webshield is not working). The only way to start it is to restart the system but this problem is very rarely.I’ve stopped it 10 times and no problems. No errors.Nothing
It’s not something someone should worry about but i think you should now.
