I love avast and use it on all my pc’s and have been using it on all my android phones ince day 1. But ive noticed very often during updatesthat avast will lose its root installation or the setup iof the anti theft which means if I dont check avast regurlarly, when I need to activate the anti theft features they wont work. Like now, wit the most recent update it shows up as a non-root instalation again and it asked me to download a seperate portion for the anti theft. I did and it has retained most of the info except the root installation…and this time I cant seem to find out how to reenable it. In previous versions you could choose advanced installation and tick root and that was all (although losing root randomly is frustrating because if I dont regurlarly check the phone, months later tha anti theft may not work when i need it). All features used to work fine after iniiatial installation but months later they might not have.
Ive tried regaining root priviliges by enabling and disabling the firewall where I was prompted for this and gave it root, but it did not change it to root installation.
Ive also tried uninstalling and reinstalling…twice and nothing. The second time I even cleared data in case it would help but it still retained all my information and didnt fix the problem.
