I’ve reinstalled avast mobile security in my mobile phone.
I’ve noticed that the avast icon is different (picture1).
My version is 4.0.7875, but in other devices is 4.0.7871 ???
My phone is a Wiko Bloom with Android 4.4
Thanks
I second the question about the icon. Why is it black and white now?
I don’t know.
I can’t change it from options (pictures 1 and 2).
I guess I’m holding off updating until there are some answers…or a change log. Last change log is from May 2014.
I noticed it too and my first thought was, is it disabled (normally associated with greyed out icons), but it appears to be running as it should.
OK. I’ve just updated my father’s phone (android 4.1.2), and apears the same notification icon.
It seems that the avast has changed it.
Just the same in my mother’s phone (android 2.3.6).
Is it possible to change it back to orange. I have many white / grey notifications and the Avast always used to stand out in orange, so it’s easy to spot if it disappears. Now I keep thinking it’s not running and I have to look much more carefully. At least, could there be an option to change back to orange?
Hate the black and white icon, please change it back or give us the option…
+1 on bringing back the orange icon. It was “iconic”!!

The reason seems to be simple - Avast started to follow Google guidelines http://developer.android.com/design/patterns/notifications_k.html, which say “Don’t use color to distinguish your app from others.”
Thanks for digging that out.
If that is the case it would have been nice to mention this in the changelog (oh yes, the elusive changelog) as it is almost a feature in its own right. And has been seen here many people wanted to know what was going on, because of a greyed out icon.
I would still like to request an option in the settings to choose my own colour, even at the risk of offending Google’s GUI gurus.
