When I first log on to my computer and go into MSN/Internet Explorer screen comes up fine. However if I close out of the MSN/Internet Explorer screen and later try to get back into it the border info comes up but the main part of the screen is blank. I then have reboot or shut down to get the MSN screen to come in again. This has only happen since I install Avast! Any Ideas as to whats going on here??? Note; I am not having this problem with Google.
Also, I can’t double click and open my word or excel attachments in my e-mails anymore. I have to open them to View online or Download them. Again, This has only happen since I install Avast! Any Ideas as to whats going on here??? (See Attachment)
Running windows xp with msn-live for Hotmail e-mail
It is clear that the Avast sandbox is causing this.
What version of Avast are you running? You can see when opening the avast interface → Summary → current status
When a program opens in sandbox you should get a box that tells you it’s being checked and you will be asked if you want to “continue execution”.
This will add it to exclusions.
You can also manually add programs to the excluded list by opening Avast interface → additional protection → autosandbox → settings → clicking “add” at the bottom there. (See attached.)
You can turn the Autosandbox off by opening the Avast interface → additional protection → autosandbox → settings → untick “enable autosandbox”
This is not recommended.
BTW my current version of Avast! is 7.0.1456
