Avast NDIS Filter slowing down FINAL FANTASY XI

Hello!

I just purchased the Avast Internet Security Suite. Ever since, FINAL FANTASY XI game performance has been horrific. Every second the game stalls for roughly 1/8 of a second, making it unplayable. I tracked it down to the Avast NDIS filter in my networking adapter.

Deactivating it remedies the problem completely.

2 questions :smiley:

  1. Is there a way to solve this problem without removing the NDIS filter?
  2. As I deactivated the filter, is Avast still working correctly? It’s not complaining at all about the missing driver…

By disabling the NDIS filter, you completely disable avast! firewall.

Is there a way to explain the behaviour this game is exhibiting?

I disable the NDIS filter, but avast current status still shows [firewall: on]
so,
it is disable? or not?
