Avast no longer runs

I don’t know what happened, Avast was running perfectly fine, and now it has stopped.
I’ve uninstalled using aswclear, because I couldnt do it through add/remove.
I used the current install from the site: Home Free edition.
When I try to start it up, or when windows loads, I get:

"The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). Click OK to close the application"

Dunno what happened.

Running Windows 7 RTM 64-Bit all current updates.

Try to redownload it and reinstall it!
Then if it runs good then let it like this if still not then you can uninstall it^^!

Oh I forgot to say try Avast removal tool first then try to remove with it!

Did you not read my post? Did that and it did not help…

Did you download the full setup file from the download page (~37MB) or the ‘part-installer’ that when run tries to download the remaining files required?
The full installer packages are under the words “Free registration” on the download page.

From the download page.

Half answer.

I’m not a retard. I had avast running for over 3 months, then it just stopped working…

No longer gonna try to run avast since there seems to be no support on the forums…so dont bother replying

Glad to see you are not a retard. ;D
The one-liner reply above had me wondering for ~a second.

Avast doesn’t just stop working without a reason. It will be either malware related, or to do with configuration, which means there is conflicting software, or maybe you are using the wrong download.

On the Download page there isn’t actually one listed of the size you quote.

The help you will get in the forum will be in proportion to how forthcoming you are prepared to be in your answers. (And maybe how patient you are.)

So if you want to respond, you could maybe advise what other security software is running, and what AV was installed prior to Avast (if any), and are there any other computer symptoms.
