It says on the avast! website that it is a Microsoft certified partner, but on http://www.microsoft.com/protect/viruses/vista/av.mspx, they are not on the list, why is this?
Being certified and the page you display aren’t the same, apart from the fact that avast is compatible with Vista and has been so since the early RC versions, sooner than many of the listed manufacturers.

The works with Vista logo on that page I assume can only be used with MS permission, there may well be a difference, I can’t recall if you have to pay microsoft to be included.
Microsoft are inherently slow at including the companies they should include, and quick to convince you that the software / drivers you’re installing do not comply with ‘…something’. Frankly, I don’t give a d*mn - Avast is well regarded, remarkably well supported and works. This forum is also superb and the people who run it / moderate it are very professional. That’s enough for me.
Cheers!

It’s more a question for our sales/marketing staff but I know it’s quite a pain to get to this list, and that they’re working on having avast there.
Thanks
