Hi, I have installed Avast 4.8 pro in my PC.Its worked well for previous 10 days,but now is not getting icon in task bar & every time i opened avast interface menu and change the status in resident protection Disabled to standard/high its not reflected. I tried 2 times uninstalled n again installed but not able to detect the resident protection/icon in my task bar. Its virus db is updated tillnow. So please tell me how to solve problem.

Please download and run Malwarebytes Antimalware and/or Superantispyware.

Which was your old antivirus? How did you remove it?

That’s probably the reason. Download the Norton Removal tool from Symantec or MajorGeeks and run it. May need to repair Avast following this.
Suggest you type in standard colour. I had to highlight your text to read it.
