It doesn’t seem to get along well with Skype 4.0(Beta). When I am in a call and bring up the Skype window in any manner (clicking it to be active, closing firefox so it’s the new active window, etc) Both Skype hangs(call quality remains fine), and Avast’s tray Icon will hang for a moment or two while spinning. This has also happened on Occasion when not in a Skype call. I’ll also get an hourglass next to my Mouse pointer which has freaked me out on more than one occasion due to paranoia.
Also, when I hover the pointer over an address too long to be displayed, the small window that pops up with the full address is blank. Neither issue is genuinely troublesome, but it does worry me when Avast hangs like that. All of this is on Windows XP, all SPs and updates done. Thank you.
Er, the issue there is call quality often suffers when I am running the program I use for art purposes. Or, it did the last time I tried upgrading a year ago or so. I’m running an older computer with only a gig or so of RAM, so I sort of dread upgrading to things with higher ram costs.
I am not a user of skype but the newest version should be better then the older ones and a beta version is not the best choice seeing they are for temporary use and feedback tell the full release
I cant say for sure about the problem, but you might have a good look through the settings and adjust them, notably ones relating to performance and or bandwidth usage?
