I have latest Avast Free 11.1.2241 on Windows 10 and it shows all protection on and OK - Avast does not, however, appear on the ‘all apps’ list. Is this normal?

There are 2 things you can try.
- Repair Avast - Programs and Features> Select Avast> Select Repair. Once done, reboot the system.
If that doesn’t work, follow the instructions to do a clean install of Avast as outlined here:
