Avast! Not showing last scan date.

Greetings,

I have the free home edition and I think it’s great. My problem is not an urgent one…but is a problem. The program doesn’t show my “last scan date”. All functions are working properly and all LOG files are good. Just on the user platform it doesn’t show. Can anyone advise if they are having the same problems and if so, is there a solution?

Thank you in advance!
Peace!

The Home free version doesn’t display this is the scan wasn’t a full scan, e.g. local disks. So was your last scan local disks or folder select ?

Thank you for your response. However, it doesn’t give an option for full scan. I have to tell it where. Local disks, Removable media and/or folders. Should I just check it all for “Full Scan”? Am I completely missing something? :o

Thanks again!

Oh and to answer your question…I told it to scan the whole “c” drive.

If you have no removable media/floppies etc there is no need to include them in the scan area. If you set it to sacn local disks, that equates to a full scan. Selecting folders allows you to select a sub-area within the local disk to scan, rather than scanning the whole disk.
Hope that’s clear?

If you are telling it to scan a specific drive/partition, e.g. c: then it would appear that you are using the Folder Selection option and from there selecting c:.

As Tarq57 said Local Disks (as in my image, states ‘Press this button to select all local non-removable disks.’), that option scans all internal hard disks.

If you only have one hard disk but multiple partitions then what you chose would only scan the c: partition and not the others. So that wouldn’t be a full scan of all drives and I don’t believe would be recorded in the last scan date.

Unless there’s been a change in avast that I missed, any scan accessed via “files and folders” isn’t considered a full scan, even if you select every drive and partition. You have to use “local drives” for it to show as the latest scan.
