I have windows XP home, SP2, Avast is not starting on system boot up any help please.
Boot-time scanner is only available on 32bit WinNT/2000/XP/Vista.
Are you trying to schedule without success?
My Avast would not start when windows was booted up, after reading the forum a bit more, I did a repair on Avast thru add/delete menu.
That seemes to have fix the issue, now I have to find out why it happened… >:(
I see, I’ve thought you couldn’t run avast boot time scanner…

My avast home free does not show along the start up icons on my lower right side! 
When I download email to Thunderbird the online scanner icon appears down there ???!
[b]When I open up the simple use interface and click on the Resident Scanner button, it indicates that my settings are set to Standard :)!
[b]My Query is; Is it being activated automatically on startup?
Or is it only being activated when i manually go to the user interface?
How can I correct this and get the Icon back on the lower right hand side on Startup?
