Avast not working

Hello,

Avast is not working: it just does what it shows in the pictures. I tried Troubleshooting - Repair App and nothing happened.

I’m using Avast Premium Security
Program version 21.9.2494 (build 21.9.6698.561)
Virus definitions version 211106-6
Number of definitions 28,542,426
UI version 1.0.672
Windows 11 for x64

Could anybody help me, please? I can’t run any scans.

  • Which AV(s) did you use before Avast…?

I’ve been using Premium Security for some time now and Windows Security has been installed since I bought this notebook, more than one year now. But I don’t think the problem is related to Windows Security precisely for this reason. More than one year working without problems??

I believe it could be related to Windows 11. Microsoft offered me to change from 10 to 11 and I did so a week ago. Does that make any sense???

Now Avast starts scanning, but it gets stuck at 0%.

First, be sure to get rid of all remnants of any prior installed AV(s)…!!

Then:

  1. Download Avast Premium Security: https://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_premium_security_setup_offline.exe
  2. Follow instructions: https://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (Run this tool for all prior installed Avast versions…!!)
  3. Reinstall Avast with the downloaded installer from point 1.
  4. Reboot.
