Avast notification for survey to get amazon gift card

Every 1-2 days the lower right corner Avast icon shows a blue dot for a notification for me to take a survey and get an amazon.com gift card valued from $5 to $200.

How do I make this stop appearing?

I don’t agree with the terms and conditions of the survey and will never take the survey, but Avast keeps creating a new notification every 1-2 days with no way to decline participation.

You can disable the ads in the paid versions: Avast GUI → Settings → Privacy

This isn’t really an ad, but a notification alert about the survey that keeps repeating with no way to opt out

Haven’t seen it here, provide a screenshot.

Here is a link to survey site:

I will add screen shot of notification message when it next appears

Hmmm, maybe US only…

I thought that if you get a notification, when you open the notification you can elect to ignore it and also hide it as I have done in the past.

You can dismiss a notification but the problem here is that the same notification keeps reappearing every day or two with no way to stop it repeating.

I haven’t found that in my experience, but then again I haven’t seen anything about this Amazon gift card for a survey. It wouldn’t make sense to keep badgering a user to complete a survey, hacked off users aren’t likely to be giving positive information.

Does this start off with a toaster popup ?
If so does the popup have a don’t show me this again option in the popup ?

A screenshot could be helpful.

The only indication is a blue dot over the Avast icon on the lower right of the screen. When you open the UI there is another blue dot next to the Notification phrase at the top of the Avast UI. When you open the Notification window is when you see the info about the survey for the amazon gift card.

I will attach screen shots when it next appears.

OK, awaiting your screenshot.

I filled out this survey some time ago. I’ve never seen it again and haven’t heard anything from Avast
or the Online Research part either.

Here are screenshots: first showing blue dot and second showing notification

Simply click on the Dismiss All

Except as I stated above clicking Dismiss All gets rid of current notification but another exact duplicate appears 1-2 days later.

it should appear just once. fixing it now. We apologize for the trouble.

Ah, just a bug, thanks Martin.
