Avast Notification

All day I’m getting this Avast pop up: “We’ve safely aborted connection on app.facebook.profileview.com because it was infected with URL: Mal” Anyone know what this is?

URL:mal = Blacklisted URL or IP

You may try clear browsers for crap with AdwCleaner https://www.malwarebytes.com/adwcleaner/

I will try that, thank you!

I tried this, and it worked for one day and then the notifications started back up again. It’s getting very annoying!

Attach your basic diagnostic logs. (MBAM and FRST)

Okay - I’m following all of the directions in the link you sent. Here’s the Malwarebytes scan report from today.

Here are the FRST ones

OK, now you’ve to wait a bit…

Thank you for your help!!

I don’t see anything malicious in logs. Please attach following file to your post.

C:\ProgramData\AVAST Software\Avast\report\WebShield.txt

Thank you for your time. Here’s the attachment.

Are you logged in to your Facebook account when Avast shows these popus?

Please temporary disable Chrome extension Kill News Feed and see will Avast reports blocked threats.

Yes - I am logged in on to Facebook when I get these. The pop up shows up when Kill News Feed is both enabled and disabled.

I did a bit of research, and looking back, it started happening when I killed my feed with the Chrome extension. Even though it’s currently not enabled, I am going to delete the extension entirely to see if it helps to resolve it.

OK, please report back.

I deleted the extension about 2 hours ago. I just got another pop up. So weird!!

Do you have Facebook app with “profile viewer” in its name?

No I don’t.

Can you tell us which Facebook Apps do you use?

I don’t use them at all. Not for Windows 10 nor as Chrome extensions. That’s what’s confused me about all of this.
