I’m getting a new computer in a few days, & in case the information isn’t transfered correctly from my old computer; I would like to put the Avast Home on a CD; as I absolutely do not want to get online without the protection. I’ve been an Avast Home user for quite some time. Not too savy on computers though 
Then download the full installation program on your existing computer and copy that file to CD/USB flash drive to transfer to your new system. Do that for all security applications you have on your system in readiness.
Download the latest version of avast http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html and save it to your HDD, somewhere you can find it again. Use that when you reinstall. Ensure that you scroll down and select the avast direct download link for the English version and not Cnet as that is for an on-line installation (not what you want to do).
