Avast on Mac

I have been using Avast since 2005 on all my home PCs and Laptop
and I absolutely LOVE it. Nice, save, fast and compact.
Not like the resource hogs from Norton or McAfee.

I am ready to buy Macintosh MacBook Pro next week and would like to
use Avast on my new Mac laptop.

Is there Avast Home edition for Mac? I could not find anything
on Avast web page.
If so, can you please direct me to URL were I can download it?

Thank you very much in advance.

A version of avast for Mac is coming soon.
We’re in the process of finishing the last details.

Thanks
Vlk

hey vik my friend
do you know what the timeframe is on the avast! for the mac-use a mac for work only at home and would love to have the best!on it also

Avast for mac is still in beta. Vlk can tell you more

of course kyle -i know you are also going to use it on that piece of apple of yours also ::slight_smile:

A lot of people have been watting for this Avast for Macs ;D

@drhayden1
I was looking at your machine description(signature) that looks like quite a good machine ::slight_smile:
Specially the Vista Ultimate, I though that only Bill Gates could buy it because its so expensive ;D

you don’t have to shot the dog…i got vista and the ultimate came on the machine when i got it :o ::slight_smile:

;D

OK

The reason why I asked about URL for download was - that this thread came up almost 1 year ago and the answer was the same :-\

“A version of avast for Mac is coming soon.”…

That’s why I thought it would be out for now.

Vlku, can you tell us at least approximate ETA so we know what ‘soon’ means this time ?

If it is days/weeks - for many it will be worth waiting it if is months or quarters - perhaps we should look for other solution - at least for the time being.

Thanks in advance.

The release date is anticipated for March 2007.

Hope this helps,
Vlk

March of 2007? I dig that 8)

And I will be looking forward to using Avast! on Mac just for the relief of my old windozes paranoia. ;D

meinrosebud-i don’t care for vista much either-i have the vista ultimate piece of crap on my quad processor desktop and i am having some issues with it and i have a mac for work only and i am seriously thinking of throwing the quad out the window(NOT REALLY)because of the vista crap and getting a mac for personal use ::slight_smile:

I understand how you feel, I beta tested most of the public beta versions of Vista and once the RC1 was released it sealed its own fate. I bought my Mac Mini 1.83 Core Duo to use as my home computer and I only run Windows XP when I am writing databases for work in Access. Wow, I can’t believe that they are continuing to fool the masses with their sub-standard software, they have spent millions of dollars of that dog and it is still crap. >:(

the gif below is where i really feel like sending vista ;D
click on gif to see it in action

meinrosebud, your switching story just made my day a whole lot better

Fell off the chair and the chair fell over laughing sniff sniff ahh tears of joy!

Your post was edited because it links rogue website which tries to sell avast! Home.
More info

And description of avast! is copy&paste from the same website, but targeted to sell winamp (try to change avast to winamp in url)…

thanks chocholo for taking that action…was wondering about that when i saw the link ??? ::slight_smile:
