Avast one essential locks up my mouse

I’m not seeing any alerts, but since I installed (what I assumed was) avast free
I’m getting tones, then my mouse locks up for a second, then tones and my mouse is freed up.
As I do audio recording on this machine, I simply cannot have this machine pegged like this.
I went to see if I could silence avast one essential (hoping that would do it) but all the help files are for the older versions of avast.

Can somebody help?

Hi,

Please go to Account>Settings>Notifications - you should be able to disable sounds and enable silent mode.
Concerning the mouse locking, could you try a different mouse and see if you have the same issue?
