I keep running into this SAME PROBLEM.I have Avast ONE free on my laptop(Win 7 !!)I do weekly scans.Lately and it happened before too,when I go to scan,it show NEVER(had it done,which is absolutely WRONG)and when I try to do it,all I get is the little circle going round and round infinitely.When this happened yesterday,I re-downloaded Avast One Free,and on that,it showed scan was done one week ago,and it worked.BUT I DON’T WANT TO HAVE TO DOWNLOAD IT EVERY TIME,RESTART THE(SLOW)MACHINE,ETC.
Is there a way to PERMANENTLY avoid this very annoying thing???Please help.

Repair Avast:
Open the Avast User Interface > Menu > Settings > Troubleshooting > Repair App. > Restart the Computer or,
Control Panel> Program and Features (Add/remove program)>Select Avast> Select Repair. Reboot when completed
