avast one issues - Smart scan blank screen spinning icon. PC speedup say restar

Just upgraded from free (run fine for years) to Avast one.

  1. Clicking smart scan shows blank smart scan window wits a spinning blue circle in the middle. Then does nothing for hours.
  2. a targeted scan works fine.
  3. pc speedup - says something went wrong - restart computer.
  4. ive restarted my computer 7 times this morning since installing Avast one. Not fixing these 2 issues.

Did the repair option, also checked for an update ( which it did find an updated after i installed just today).
Symptoms still same.

Please use the Avast Uninstall Utility (https://support.avast.com/en-ww/article/10/) to remove Avast and then re-install Avast One.
