Can anyone explain the difference? Can’t believe I can’t find a clear comparison on the website!
Thanks, but that is just the FAQ, it doesn’t explain what the difference is. Nowhere can I find a comparison of Avast One vs the other other Avast subscriptions (eg free, premium security, ultimate, or the individual additional components). Nor can I find anything explaining why they both seem to do the same thing (is Avast One the new version of Ultimate? Or is it different?).
And that has Avast One and Avast free and Avast Premium, but not Avast Ultimate. Why not and what is the difference from Ultimate please??
And that link has the information about Avast Ultimate, but still does not explain how it differs from Avast One or what the difference is. I’d already found the information about each - what I can’t find (and would like to know) is what the difference is between them (ie which is better for what and a comparison). That bit of information really doesn’t appear to be anywhere on the website.
You’re correct, there isn’t one site that makes it easy to discover the differences.
You do have all the information, but you need to do a bit of research on your own.
Which one works for you also depends on your needs and you know that better than anyone else.
Thank you.
A bit of feedback for Avast then - if you want people to buy your products, it would help if you could lay it out clearly, as you do with other products. I’m not a student in school any longer where there are benefits to ‘doing a bit of research on my own’ - I’m a potential customer for whom you want to make it as easy as possible so that I am encouraged to buy your products. If you make it as difficult as this for me to find the information I want to make an informed decision, then you’re really not likely to achieve that.
Like you, I’m also just a customer.
So from what I can see Avast One is the same as Avast Ultimate except it also can:
“Clean up, speed up, and update your devices” By this I infer it includes Driver Updater, which isn’t mentioned in Ultimate???
Ultimate has Antitrack, so I’m assuming it can do the bit that One can also “Get an alert if any of your passwords are leaked and secure your accounts”
But yes, I also cannot find a simple comparison for both. I’m assuming otherwise they’re basically the same.
I couldn’t even find a link to Ultimate from the Avast website, but did via duckduckgo. It exists, I just can’t seem to navigate TO it from the main Avast site, even though it’s is on it, and I CAN navigate FROM it back to the main site.
I only found out about Ultimate when I contacted Avast asking to roll subscriptions into one and upgrade to 2 or more devices as I had just bought a laptop. Seems weird they wouldn’t be promoting it like crazy.
Ultimate refers to being for 1 PC $64.99 or 10 devices at $79.99 a year (I’m in Australia and it looks like there’s a discount atm down from $133.99/$167.99), and Avast One is for 5 or 30 devices ($70.68/$95.88 down from $139.99/$189.99).
Seems to me that One is the better deal.
They aren’t the same. You do the comparisons,
https://www.avast.com/en-us/compare-antivirus#pc
https://www.avast.com/en-us/ultimate#pc
Thank you for your response.
I did. This is what I was talking about. Ultimate refers to bundling named products, but One refers to doing the same thing as those products, just not mentioning the individual products by name.
Avast One also seems to include driver updater, which Ultimate does not.

Yep, correct. 8)
Thank you Asyn.
I also had another thought (they happen from time to time). Perhaps a difference is:
One is an all-in-one product that has no options to switch off/on any of the individual features, it’s all-or-nothing.
Ultimate is the actual 4 current products that you can elect to use or not, individually.
No idea if this is right, just something that occurred to me.

- You’re welcome.
- Well, you explained it quite well.
OK cool, ta.
I think it would be helpful if they included the differences in their comparison pages. Especially for us older types who need it spelled out.
They could emphasise Ultimate may cost a bit more and not contain Driver Updater, but it is more flexible.

Agreed.

That’s the reason for listing two links. I was not able to find one website that effectively
compared all the products. Would be helpful to everyone if Avast made that available.
