Another day, another post about a possible security problem
The Online Security Extra for Firefox has some options that can be turned On or Off, and even more Options if you click on the lower right side of the sliding bar.
The problem is, I have my Firefox to clean my internet activity when I turn it off. This also cleans Cookies, etc etc etc… and the Avast! Online Security Options as well. I know it’s a Cookie problem. If I deselect Cookies in the cleanup process, Avast Online Security will keep it’s rules. If I clean the cookies, Avast O.S. will reset to default.
With Firefox I don’t think it is possible to only clear selected cookies (unless you do it manually). Seems it is something for the Avast! team to sort out.
I too have this problem of having to re-apply the Avast! Settings in Firefox, in my case each time I run CCleaner.
Is a fix panned for this or, is there a workaround?
CCleaner allows you to exclude files or folders from its cleaning process, however, I have been unable to work out exactly where the Avast! Settings are stored.
Maybe you can save avast online security cookies in CCleaner.
Options/Cookies and move cookies you want to keep to the right field.
I don’t use AOS so I don’t know if this is going to work.
Also,do you clean Site Preferences in Firefox ?
I know if that option is checked in Firefox or CCleaner then SpywareBlaster protection (tracking cookies)
is disabled.
